For many years, the women’s ministry in our local church and in the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ) was known as Christian Women’s Fellowship, or CWF. Now this
ministry is known as Disciples Women.

We have an excellent and active Disciples Women group in our church. They are involved
in numerous service projects, both within the church and in the community. General meetings
for the whole group are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month, at 1:30pm, in the church
Fellowship Hall. There are several small groups, for study and fellowship, that meet on the
2nd Tuesday of each month. There is also a Saturday morning group that meets on the 2nd
Saturday of each month.

The service project for the month of September is providing the following items for the Labette Assistance Center.

canned tuna
canned chicken
hamburger helper
tuna helper

The October project will be soup and crackers. You may bring your items to the church; there is a box in the narthex.

Don’t forget the Kansas Christian Home Bazaar and also the Korean Monetary Mission Project, which will help homeless children in Korea.

A big thank you for your participation in the August mission project, providing food items for the Labette Assistance Center.

  The General Meeting of Disciple Women will be Tuesday, Sept. 25th at noon (note change of time) in the Fellowship Hall. A noon meal will be furnished but, please bring your own table service.
   A power point presentation will be shown about the woman-to-woman trip to Korea, our mission study for this year. We will also celebrate the 52nd birthday of World CWF (now known as Global Women Connecting). An offering will be taken for their project, which is “red de Mejeros” a part of CEDECOL. This project helps women of Colombia, South America because of their suffering in the last four decades.
   The evening DW’s group is in charge of the program and the morning DW’s group is hostess. Don’t forget your food items for the Labette Assistance Pantry, our monetary gifts for Korea, and items for the KCH Bazaar.
